For the traditional members of the tribe, authentic Yawanawa Rapé is defined by its adherence to a simple, time-honored recipe: tobacco and Tsunu ashes. The Tsunu tree, indigenous to the tribe’s region, is integral to this process. Its bark is carefully burned to produce the ashes that are then combined with tobacco to create the Rapé. This blend is a testament to the tribe’s deep-rooted connection to their natural environment and their commitment to preserving their cultural heritage.
